BENITTA
VISUAL ARTIST AND ILLUSTRATOR
Benitta has been a full-time artist since 2011. Although she had long created and sold artwork, it was after losing her home and all her possessions in the devastating Queensland floods of that year that she took the leap to pursue her art career full-time, leaving behind a long-standing career in events and communications. Her journey has been marked by resilience—she had to start over again in 2022 after losing a significant body of work and supplies in yet another flood. Despite these setbacks, her passion for art has only grown stronger.
As a versatile artist, Benitta creates captivating works across multiple mediums, including pastels, oils, and digital vector drawings. She specialises in lifelike portraits and figurative pieces in pastel and oil, known for her masterful use of colour, composition, and ability to capture the unique personality and essence of her subjects. Her passion for urban landscapes is also evident in her moody, expressive cityscapes, which portray everything from sunrise-lit streets to the twinkling lights and deep shadows of night.
In the digital realm, Benitta is an accomplished illustrator and designer, bringing her distinctive style to a broad range of projects—from mascots and school illustrations to seamless pattern designs for textiles. Her creativity and technical skill make her work both polished and playful.
Her diverse practice also includes over a decade of experience as a freelance set designer and illustrator for stage productions. Through her work with Pen2Stage, a boutique creative production company, she has designed sets and characters for beloved children’s shows including Jungle Book Jive, Nickelodeon’s Paw Patrol, Shimmer and Shine, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Activision’s Skylanders. Her work has reached audiences across the globe, from Singapore and the Philippines to India, China, and Dubai.
Benitta’s work brings joy, emotion, and creativity to every audience, with each piece reflecting her signature style and artistic flair.
